Cat and Dean hold a special place in their hearts for the Big Island of Hawaii and try to come to the Kona Coast as much as they can from their home in Idaho. It seemed natural for them to capture their new status as a married couple on Waialea Beach (Beach 69). I loved hanging out with this funny and smart couple who are both self employed in really cool careers (organic farming and natural health). Getting to hang with such interesting and fun people is a major highlight of this work. Are you looking to capture your love with some special photographs in Hawaii? Call me. xoxo

Puakea Ranch Wedding Published on Ruffled Blog

Tuesday, 20 September 2016 00:35

One of my favorite wedding blogs, Ruffled, totally thrilled me by publishing images from this beautiful Puakea Ranch wedding I photographed last year right after I had baby Ona (not that I'm blaming anybody for not blogging since then). Anyway, it was absolutely lovely and Julian and Katie are that smart and stylish couple you just want to spend more time with.  It was a dream as always to work with Kona Wedding Planner Vintage and Lace Weddings and Grace Flowers Hawaii. I hope you have a moment to check out the full post here. I'll blog the full wedding soon, if baby Ona lets me.

These two lovebirds were married at the Big Island's Four Seasons Hualalai and were blessed with the most gorgeous sunset and huge waves for a dramatic backdrop to a beautiful ceremony and celebration. Congrats to j + d! Aloha.

Pololu Valley Wedding

Friday, 17 July 2015 19:28

This is the most adventurous wedding I have ever photographed! Lindsay and Brian have been traveling the world surfing and exploring but when they set their eyes on the majestic Pololu Valley on the Big Island's North Shore they decided to elope. Sara of Jots of Thoughts and I hiked down into the valley where the intimate ceremony was performed in the forests then they celebrated playing on the beach. What an amazing day! I look forward to sharing more of this stunning couple in the most incredible place. Aloha!

Julian and Katie had a gorgeous destination wedding at Puakea Ranch on the Big Island of Hawaii. I can't wait to share more from this beautiful couple's perfect event. We all stayed dry under this beautiful tree on the ranch during a pretty hefty rain blessing that ended with their ceremony. With Rachael from Vintage & Lace behind the decor and planning, you know everything will run smoothly and look beautiful. Flowers came from Honoka'a's Grace Flowers Hawaii. A big congratulations to Julian and Katie!

This gorgeous couple had their Hawaii destination wedding on the beaches of the Kona Coast. Beth and Tyler had a lovely ocean side ceremony coordinated and designed by the fantastic Sara Kam of Jots of Thoughts. Sara and Beth designed a beautiful reception right in the heart of Kailua-Kona at Daylight Mind. I will share more soon of this beautiful wedding.

Anika is from the Big Island's Hilo side so it was a real homecoming for her to tie the know with her amazing partner, Ryan. They had a lovely wedding ceremony at a private home in Keauhou mauka. Congratulations to these two! I look forward to sharing more from this very special Hawaii destination wedding.

This beautiful family had a lovely beach elopement at the Four Seasons on the Big Island of Hawaii. Their guest of honor looked adorable in his little suit. Congratulations and Aloha!

Adam and Amy came from their home in New Zealand to the Big Island of Hawai'i for their very special destination wedding at the Hokukano Bayhouse at Keauhou Bay.  Adam's family all made trip from NZ to Kona for the big event, and Amy's from the cold winter of Minnesota. They were so lovely and I had a great time getting to know this beautiful couple and all of their loved ones. Vintage and Lace teamed up with Passion Flowers by Nalani made for a flawless evening and gorgeous styling, which I look forward to sharing in a future post. For now, I wish Amy and Adam all the best, and lots of Aloha!

Yesterday's News

As yesterday's news unfolded about the Supreme Court taking on the ruling on gay marriage, I was photographing these two at the Mauna Lani for their Hawaii destination wedding. Taelor and Niki have been together for ten years and are more in love than ever. I was so excited to hear the developments and am confident the court will move forward towards progress. Here's to getting married in Hawaii and staying married in all fifty states! Happy weekend, everyone.
