In the chaos and stress of the moments before a wedding, Miyuki turns to me and asks if I need anything to drink, and did I get a chance to go the beach this morning. She and Osamu are some of the most graceful and lovely people I have met in a long time, the kind of people you just want to take it and absorb. At their wedding I realized their family and friends are all reflections of their bright spirits. It was a personal, and special wedding with the couple's good friend officiating the outdoor ceremony up in the hills of Honolulu at the gorgeous Liljestrand House. Osamu is the perfect match for Miyuki, as her parents said at the reception, "because she chose him. " Miyuki looked perfect in a J. Mendel dress and Monolo Blahnik shoes. The event was flawlessly organized by Current Affairs with live music by Ian O'Sullivan.

I've already written about what a treat it was to photograph this beautiful family, but I am excited to share more from their destination wedding on Oahu's North Shore. I feel grateful that I got to be a part of such a special and intimate occasion with these two and their adorable baby boy. Heather and Matt did it right! Heather looked beautiful in her Grace Loves Lace dress (brides: check out their site!) and Kahu Pomaika‘i ordained a lovely non-denominational Hawaiian ceremony right on Kawela Bay. It was a dreamy event full of Aloha.

Oh. My. Goodness. I just arrived home from my travels to this beautiful wedding where I photographed Matt and (baby Selby) Heather's elopement at Kawela Bay on the North Shore of Oahu. I know wedding photographers are always taking about all the love .. but this was pretty inspiring. I rushed home to hug and kiss my people a little extra after being around these three. Pretty amazing little family. I was so lucky to be a part of this totally perfect ceremony. The entire family was so calm and peaceful, they even helped me relax my wedding jitters, and I really loved Heather's understated whimsical style. I wish Heather, Matt and Selby a bright and beautiful future together full of aloha.
